S4 Container
Amazon EKS용 S3 압축 container
S4 transparent compression gateway의 container build입니다. 포함된 Helm chart로 Amazon EKS의 임의 CPU node에 drop-in S3-compatible gateway를 배포하고 S3 client를 연결하면, 압축 가능한 데이터의 S3 storage bytes를 50–80% 줄일 수 있습니다. pod-hour 단위로 metering되며, Marketplace entitlement가 없으면 fail closed됩니다. 무료 `ghcr.io` image와 동일한 binary입니다.
S4 Container는 transparent S3-compatible compression gateway의 container distribution입니다. AMI build와 동일한 binary(nvCOMP / GPU for integer and columnar data; CPU zstd for text and log data)이며, 포함된 Helm chart로 Amazon EKS의 소형 CPU node에 배포됩니다. 애플리케이션 변경은 없고 lock-in도 없습니다 — 객체는 gateway 없이도 Apache-2.0 CLI / Python / fsspec tooling으로 계속 읽을 수 있습니다. 유료 container는 시작 시 AWS Marketplace `RegisterUsage`로 entitlement를 검증하며, entitlement가 없으면 fail closed됩니다. pod-hour 단위로 metering됩니다.
주요 특징
Amazon EKS에 drop in: bundled Helm chart, 임의 CPU node에서 실행. S3 client는 S3 wire-compatible endpoint에 변경 없이 동작합니다.
압축 가능한 데이터에서 S3 storage bytes를 50–80% 줄입니다. AMI와 동일한 binary이며, bucket별 실측 savings report(s4 savings)가 내장되어 있습니다.
pod-hour 단위 metering 및 Marketplace fail-closed entitlement: container는 시작 시 `RegisterUsage`를 호출하고 entitlement가 없으면 service를 거부합니다. 무료 `ghcr.io` image와 동일한 code입니다.
요금제 모델
AWS가 청구하는 hourly per-pod software fee + 자체 EKS cluster의 EC2 node 비용. license key는 필요 없으며, entitlement는 Marketplace `RegisterUsage`로 검증됩니다.
